No of students in the school = 240

The total percentage of school students is 100%

So, 100%=240

Percentage of absent students is 25%

Out of hundred percent 25% students are absent

So the number of absent students is 25% of 100%

100% = 240

25% = x

100%x = 240*25% (by cross-multiplying)

Percentage is cancel out by percentage

x = 6000/100

x = 60

No of absent students is 60

If 60 students are absent then number of present students

To find the number of present students we have substract the number of absent students from the total number of students in the school

This will be done as follows

No. of present students= Total no. of students in a school- No. of absent students

No. of present students= 240-60

=180

The percentage of total no. of students is 100%

Then the percentage of present is x

So,

100%=240

x% = 180

240x% = 180*100%(by cross-multiplying)

The percentage is cancel out by the percentage

240x = 180*100

240x = 18000

x = 18000/240

x = 75%

Hence, the percentage of present students is 75%

Answer

Percentage of presenties = 75 %

60 student's are present on that day

180 students are present on that day

Given

There are 240 student in a school if 25% student are absent on a day due to rain

To Find

Percentage of presenties

No. of student's present on that day . And

No. of student's absent on that day

Solution

Total number of student's = 240

Given percentage of absenties = 25 %

\to\ \rm Absenties =25\ \%\  (240)\\\\\to\ \rm Absenties=\dfrac{25}{100}\times 240\\\\\to\ \rm Absenties=\dfrac{1}{4}\times 240\\\\\to\ \rm Absenties =60

So , 60 student's are present on that day

So , Presenties = 240 - 60 = 180

(or)

We know that ,

Percentage of absenties + Percentage of presenties = 100 %

⇒ 25 % + Percentage of presenties = 100 %

⇒ Percentage of presenties = 100 % - 25 %

⇒ Percentage of presenties = 75 %

\to\ \rm Presenties=75\ \%\ (240)\\\\\to\ \rm Presenties=\dfrac{75 }{100}\times 240\\\\\to\ \rm Presenties =\dfrac{75}{5}\times 12\\\\\to\ \rm Presnties = 180

So , 180 students are present on that day .
