ANSWER ::

Total counters in the bag = 25

So the total number of possible outcomes = 25

Let A be the event that the counter is WHITE

So the number of possible outcomes for the event A is = 25 - (12 + 5) = 8

So the required probability is = P(A) = 8/25

Solution =

Total Counters in bag = 25

Red Counters = 12

Green counters = 5

White Counters = 12+5=17

25-17=8

There are 8 white counters in bag.

This is your solution.
