There are 25 horses. What is the minimum number of races needed so as to identify fastest 3 horses? 5 horses can run at a time, no watch available.​

Name the groups A, B, C, D, E.

Race them so, you'll get 5 fastest horses from every group.

Race those 5 horses to get fastest horse (we'll name this race as Race 6 for reference) (Lets consider the order from fastest to slowest as A B C D E)

Now take two horse from the group A (not the fastest one), one from group B as well as the second horse from Race 6 and the third horse from Race 6.

By competing them, we'll get the fastest second and third horse.
