Answer:

756 or 378  (based on assumptions)

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 28 stations between ernakulam and chennai. How many second class tickets have to be printed, so that a passenger can travel from one station to any other station?

There may be two cases one is that to & fro tickets are same and another case to & fro ticket are different

Case 1 A to B Ticket & B to A ticket is same where A & B are stations

so one ticket will serve for travelling Ato B or B to A

So Tickets from Station 1 to be printed for other 28 - 1 = 27

Similarly from 2nd Station 27-1 = 26 and so on

so Total Tickets

27 + 26 + 25 + .............................+3 +2 +1

= 27 (27+1)/2

= 27 * 14

= 378

Case 2 A to B Ticket & B to A ticket are different where A & B are stations

so Ticket for A to B can not be used B to A

so from each station Tickets required for another 27 Stations

so Tickets required = 28 * 27 = 756
