Answer:

The missing 2 rs are part of the remaining 6 rs.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's do a detailed analysis of the situation:

1. The three pals start out with a combined total of 60 rs.

2. Assuming they didn't have exact change, they give the merchant 60 rupees in exchange for a pen that costs 50 rupees.

3. Upon realising they have forgotten their 10 rupees, the merchant sends his maid to fetch the money.

4. The shopkeeper's maid pays 4 rs for an auto to get to the pals.

Let's now determine the total amount spent:

  • The pals had 60 Rs at first.
  • The pen cost them 50 rupees.
  • The maid of the store spent 4 rupees on the car.

Total Spent = 50 rs + 4 rs = 54 rs

Despite this, we are aware that 6 rs were left after all of these transactions.

So, the missing 2 rs can be accounted for as follows:

  • Initially, the friends had 60 rs.
  • They spent 54 rs on the pen and auto.
  • The remaining 6 rs is the difference between the initial amount (60 rs) and the amount spent (54 rs).

Therefore, the missing 2 rs are part of the remaining 6 rs.
