There are 3 lie detectors, each of which is accurate 70% of the time What is the
combined accuracy of the three lie detectors put together? (In the case where two
ile detectors predict one result and the third predicts an opposite result, the result
of the two detectors giving same result will be considered).

Answer:

since, a single lie detector can detect 70%

lets take 100 as the total number tried. therefore number of times it detected correctly=70

now let's add 70% from second detector and 70% from the third to the first

100+70=170% = 1.7 × 70 = 119×1.7= 202.3

(your can use another method to add %)

total would be 300 tries in this case out of which we would get 202.3 accurate answer

let x be the new percentage › 300(x/100)= 202.3

3x=202.3

x= 202.3/3 = 67.4%

so if there are only 30 tries we would get 20.23 right answer and for every try which is 3 try since there are 3 detectors simulating together we would get 2/3 accurate ans
