Given : There are 3 locations A(2,3) B(4.5,5.5) and c(8.10) with respective loads 280,350,520 units respectively.

To Find :  the new location using center of gravity.

Solution:

(x , y) =  (m₁x₁ + m₂x₂ + m₃x₃)/(m₁ + m₂ + m₃) ,  (m₁y₁ + m₂y₂ + m₃y₃)/(m₁ + m₂ + m₃)

m₁x₁ + m₂x₂ + m₃x₃ =  280(2) + 350(4.5) + (520)(8)

= 560 + 1575 + 4160

= 6,295

m₁y₁ + m₂y₂ + m₃y₃ =  280(3) + 350(5.5) + (520)(10)

= 840 + 1915 + 5200

= 7965

m₁ + m₂ + m₃ = 280 + 350 + 520   =1150

center of gravity.  = (6,295/ 1150)  , (7965/1150)

=  (5.473   ,  6.9261)
