Answer:

GIVEN :

Total oranges = 32

Emma ate = ⅛

Sam ate = ¼

TO FIND :

Total mangoes left

SOLUTION :

We are knowing that

Oranges ate by Emma = ⅛ × 32 = 32/8 = 4 Orange

Orange ate by Sam = ¼ × 32 = 32/4 = 8 Orange

Now,

Oranges left = 32 - (8 + 4)

Mangoes left = 32 - 12 = 20

\Large{\bf{\underline{\underline{\red{Given}}}}}

Total Oranges = 32

  • Emma took ⅛ of oranges

  • Sam took ¼ of oranges

\Large{\bf{\underline{\underline{\red{To \:  Find}}}}}

Number of Oranges left

\Large{\bf{\underline{\underline{\red{Solution}}}}}

According to the question,

  • Oranges took by Emma :-

\sf{➡  \: \dfrac{1}{8}  \times 32 }

\sf{➡\cancel{ \dfrac{32}{8} }}

\sf\purple{➡ \:  4 \: oranges}

∴ Total Oranges taken by Emma are 4 Oranges

Oranges took by Sam :-

\sf{➡  \: \dfrac{1}{4}  \times 32 }

\sf{➡\cancel{ \dfrac{32}{4} }}

\sf\purple{➡ \:  8 \: oranges}

∴ Total Oranges taken by Sam are 8 Oranges

_____________________

Now,

Number of Oranges left = Total number of Oranges - ( Total Oranges took by Emma + Total Oranges took by Sam )

By substituting values we get,

\sf{➡ \: 32 - (4 + 8)}

\sf{➡ \: 32 - 12}

\sf\pink{➡  \: 20  \: oranges}

Hence, The Total number of Oranges left are 20 oranges
