Suppose x = no. of cows and y = no. of goats(on the farm)
Given data,
x+y = 338............. 1)
= y/5...............2)
From eq..... 2) we get, the value of x
x = 3y/15.......3)
put this value of x in eq. 1 we get,
3y/15 + y = 338
3y + 15y = 5070
18y = 5070
y = 281.67
x + 281.67 = 338
x = 56.33
