350 × 20 ÷ 100
= 70 girls

this is not the answer..... 20 % (=70 girls) are already inside the hall ....the question i about the girls who just entered the hall late???

total no. of people in hall = 350
% of people female = 20%
so no. of females = 350 × 20/100 = 70
so 70 are female and 280 are males.
