Given :  There are 4 apples and 6 oranges in a basket.

Any type of fruit is drawn twice randomly from a

basket without replacement,

To Find :  the frequency distribution considering the random variable X as the counts of oranges.

Solution:

4 Apples

6 oranges

Total = 10

Total ways = ¹⁰C₂ = 45

Oranges = 0  => number of ways  = ⁶C₀.⁴C₂  = 6

Oranges = 1  => number of ways  =  ⁶C₁.⁴C₁  =  24

Oranges = 2  => number of ways  = ⁶C₂.⁴C₀  = 15

Number of oranges      Frequency Distribution

0                                       6

1                                        24

2                                       15
