Given:

Five friends are given A,B,C,D,E.

Each likes one food named Rice,Mutton,Chicken,Burger,Pizza,

They are having birthday in January, February, March, April, May.

To find:

Find the favorite food and birthday of B.

Solution:

We will create a table And representing the names, food and birthday.

We put cross sign (X) or tick sign(√)  against the name according to the condition.

1.  The man who likes pizza is born in march so the √ will be placed against the same name.

2. C does not like pizza, so put a X against C under pizza column.

3. D likes rice and born in April, so put √ against D under rice and april column.

4.E is fond of burger, so put √ against E under burger column.

5. E is born immediately after B, so B can born in January then E in February and if B is born in February then E will born in March.

6.B does not like mutton and burger so put the sign X accordingly.

7. As pizza is for march born person so B is left with only chicken.

8. C does not like pizza , C will like either mutton or pizza .

9. E likes burger so he can not be born in March, he has to born in February or January but E is born immediately after B so E will born in February and B will born in January.

Hence the combination for B is chicken and January.
