Given :

  • There are 40 cards in a bag .

To Find :

  • Probability of getting a multiple of 5 .

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Total\:Outcomes=40}

\longmapsto\tt{Favourable\:Outcomes=8}

= 5 , 10 , 15 , 20 , 25 , 30 , 35 ,40 .

\longmapsto\tt\bf{Probability=\frac{No.\:of\:Fav.\:Outcomes}{Total\:No.\:of\:Outcomes}}

\longmapsto\tt{\cancel\dfrac{8}{40}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{\dfrac{1}{5}}

So , The Probabilty of getting a multiple of 5 is 1/5 ...
