There are 40 fruits in a basket, some oranges and some apples. The number of oranges is 10 more than that of the apple. What is the number of oranges and apples

Answer:

Let price of apples as x.

Total number of fruits in the basket =40=x+(x+10)

Number of apples =x

Number of oranges =x+10

=x+(x+10)

= 2x+10

2x= 40-10=30

x=30 ÷2

=15

Number of apples=15

Number of oranges=25
