Here is your answer.

  • There are 40 papers
  • Mr Ashok can check 5 papers in an hour
  • Mrs Meena can check 4 papers in an hour.
  • Mr Ashok spends 3 hours
  • Mr Ashok in 1 hour checks 5 papers

So in 3 hours he checks 5*3papers

==> 15 papers

Mrs Meena can check 4 papers in 1 hours

So in 2 hours she checks 4*2 papers

==>8 papers

Total papers checked = 15 + 8

==> 23 papers

Percentage checked = Papers checked / Total papers * 100%

==> 23 / 40 * 100%

==> 23 * 5 / 2%

==> 11.5*5%

==>57.5%

Thus 57.5% papers were checked.

Hope it helps you
