let no of passenger with ₹3 be x

let no of passenger with ₹10 be y

by given condition

x+y=40     ......(i)

x=40-y

3x +10y =295   .....(i)

put value of x in eq.(ii)

120-3y +10y=295

7y=185

y=25

put value of  y in any eq

x=40-25

x=15

No of passenger with ₹3 are 15

And

No. of passenger with ₹10  are 25
