Answer:

Let the Passengers having Rs. 3 tickets be n and of Rs. 10 tickets be (40 n).

According to the Question :

⇢ (Rs. 3 + Rs. 10) Ticket = Rs. 295

⇢ (Rs. 3 × n) + (Rs. 10 × (40 – n)) = Rs. 295

⇢ Rs. 3n + Rs. 400 – Rs. 10n = Rs. 295

⇢ Rs. 400 – Rs. 295 = Rs. 10n – Rs. 3n

⇢ Rs. 105 = Rs. 7n

  • Dividing both term by Rs. 7

n = 15 [ Rs. 3 Ticket Passengers ]

There are 15 Rs. 3 tickets passengers.

VERIFICATION :

⇴ (Rs. 3 + Rs. 10) Ticket = Rs. 295

⇴ (Rs. 3 × n) + (Rs. 10 × (40 – n)) = Rs. 295

⇴ Rs. 3n + Rs. 400 – Rs. 10n = Rs. 295

⇴ Rs. 400 – Rs. 7n = Rs. 295

⇴ Rs. 400 – Rs. 7(15) = Rs. 295

⇴ Rs. 400 – Rs. 105 = Rs. 295

Rs. 295 = Rs. 295 ⠀ ⠀Hence, Verified!

➩₹(3×10) + (₹10×(40-x)) = ₹295

➩3x + ₹400 - 10x = ₹295

➩₹400 - ₹295 = 10x - 3x
