2/5
2/5 of 40 choose flute=16
8 choose drum
16+8=24, 40-24=16(it means rest 16 students chooses piano and fraction of 16 is 2/5)
Fraction of students having drums choice is 1/5 (8/40)

Answer:

Total =40 students

2/5 of 40 = flute

2/5*40= flute

16 =flute

8= drum

40-(16+8) = piano

40 - 24= piano

16= piano

Fraction for flute = 2/5

Fraction for piano = 2/5

Fraction for drum = 5/5 - (2/5+2/5)

= 5/5-4/5

=1/5
