Since we have to find the total number of students in the class let's take it step by step. First of all let's consider the total strength as X.

As we can see that 15% of class strength is girls and the rest are boys. This signifies that the class has 85% of the strength as boys.

Also we know that total number of boys in the class are 442.

Let's put it in a equation. 85% of the total students is equal to 442 i.e. 85% of X is 442.

(X * 85)/100 =442

X= 442*100/85

X= 520

By this way we calculate the total number of students in all sections of class 6 is equal to 520.

85% of X is equal to the 442

85/100 × X = 442

X= (442×100)/85

X=520 students
