Given:

Total number of people in the office = 45

Number of females = 5 more than males

To Find:

Number of male workers in terms of female

Solution:

Let the number of male workers be = x

Since, female workers are 5 more than male workers

Thus, total number of female workers will be = x + 5

According to the question -

x +( x +5) =45

2x + 5 = 45

2x = 45 - 5

2x = 40

x =40/2

x =20

Thus, number of male workers = x = 20

Substituting the value of x -

Number of female workers = x +5

= 20 + 5

= 25

Number of males is to female = 20/25

= 4:5

Answer: Number of male workers to female is 4:5

Number of male workers in terms of the female workers is Female workers - 5 if  the female workers are 5 more than male workers

Given:

45 people working in an office.

Female workers are 5 more than male workers

To Find:

The number of male workers in terms of the female workers.

Solution:

Step 1:

As Female workers are 5 more than male workers

=> Female workers = 5 + Male Workers

Step 2:

Subtract 5 from both sides

=> Female workers - 5 = 5 + Male Workers - 5

=> Female workers - 5 = Male Workers

Step 3:

Exchange sides

Male Workers =  Female workers - 5

Number of male workers in terms of the female workers is

Female workers - 5

Additional Info:

Male workers + Female workers = 45

=> Female workers - 5  + Female workers = 45

=> 2 ( Female workers) = 50

=> Female workers = 25

=> Male Workers = 25 - 5 = 20
