let the no. of girls in the class be x.
Then, ATQ,
2/5(45) + x = 45
18 + x =45
x.= 45-18 =27
So,there are 27 girls in the class.
hope it helped u

Concept:

Fraction is a mathematical term which compares two mathematical quantities, number etc.

Given:

Given that, There are 45 students in a class. 2/5 of them are boys.

Find:

The number of girls in the class.

Solution:

Given that the total number of students i.e. boys and girls combined is given by 45.

Also it is told in the question that 2/5 of the total students are boys.

So number of boys in the class consisting 45 students is given by

= 45*(2/5)

= (9*5*2)/5

= 18

Thus the number students who are boy is given by 18.

Then the number of girls in that class is = Total number of student - Total number of boys = 45 - 18 = 27

Hence there are 27 girls in the class of 45 students.
