Given:

No. of new song dvds = 5428

No. of old song dvds = 3654

1,258 dvds of old songs and 3,654 dvds of new songs are sold

To find:

The total no. of dvds left at the shop

Solution:

Total no. of dvds in the shop are,

= [new song dvds] + [old song dvds]

= 5428 + 3654

= 9082

Now, since 3654 new songs dvds and 1258 old songs dvds were sold

∴ Total no. of dvds that were sold from the shop = 3654 + 1258 = 4912

∴ Total no. of dvds left at the shop are,

= [Total no. of dvds in the shop] - [Total no. of dvds that were sold from the shop]

= 9082 - 4912

= 4170

Thus, the total no. of dvds left at the shop are 4170.
