Given: There are 5 balls, each of colour white, blue, green, red and yellow in a bag

To find: probability of drawing the red ball out of the bag

Explanation:

total  number of balls = 25 balls

probability of getting red ball = number of red balls / total number of balls in

                                                                                          that bag

that is -

Pₓ( where x=red ball ) = 5/25

                                   = 1/5

Answer = 1/5 probability of getting red ball

Given - Number of balls

Find - Probability of drawing a red ball

Solution - The probability of drawing a red ball is 1/5.

The probability can be calculated by the formula -

Probability = number of positive outcomes/total number of events

Here, the number of positive outcomes = 5

Total number of events = 5*5

Total number of events = 25

Keeping the values in the formula to find the value of probability -

 Probability =  \frac{5}{25}

 Probability =  \frac{1}{5}

Thus, the probability of drawing a red ball is 1/5.
