Given : 5 different shirts ′P′ to ′T′ placed in a row for a hanger (not necessarily in alphabetical order). The shirt ′Q′ is exactly placed between ′R′ and ′S′, ′R′ is not at either extreme, and ′P′  is somewhere between ′S′ and ′T′,

To Find : which shirt is placed in the middle.

Solution:

Q′ is exactly placed between ′R′ and ′S′,

Hence possibility :

        R   Q   S

        S   Q   R

P is some where between S and T

Hence possible cases :

R   Q   S  P  T     or       T  P  R   Q   S

or

T  P   S   Q   R    or      S   Q   R  P  T

′R′ is not at either extreme

Hence  R   Q   S  P  T   &  T  P   S   Q   R   not possible

So we left with

T  P  R   Q   S

S   Q   R  P  T

in Both cases R is in the middle

Hence Shirt R is placed in middle
