Answer:
There are 20 coins of 2 Rs.
30 coins of 5 Rs.
and total amount is 290 Rs.
Step-by-step explanation:
Given, total no. of coins = 50
Let, the no. of 2 Rs. coin be x
and the no. of 5 Rs. coin be y
Now, According to question
x + y = 50 ---------- equation 1
x = y - 10 or x - y = - 10 ----------- equation 2
Adding both equations
2x = 40 or x = 20 ------- equation 3
Putting the value of x of Equation 3 in Equation 1
20 + y = 50
y = 50 - 20 or y = 30
There are 20 coins of 2 Rs.
and 30 coins of 5 Rs.
The total amount in the box = (2 × 20) + (5 × 30)
= 40 + 150
= 290 Rs.
