• We have to find the mean of the numbers that is x.

Mean of 50 numbers = x

Each number is subtracted from 53 mean will be = 53 - x

(As 53 will be subtracted from each number, the corresponding mean will also be subtracted from 53.)

-3.5 = 53 - x
