There are 55 students in class 7 in a certain
school. Is it possible to say that there must be
at least two students whose birthdays are in the
same week?
You only have to determine the possibility of
two students having birthdays in the same week,
without considering specific cases or examples.
Whether your answer is yes or no, you have to
justify it!

Given :  There are 55 students in class 7 in a certain  school

To find :  Is it possible to say that there must be  at least two students whose birthdays are in the  same week

Solution:

YES , its possible to say

as there are 52 / 53 Weeks in a years

if one student born in one week

still 52/53 students in all the weeks of year

now still 3/2 students left who will be born in any

of those week

hence   it possible to say that there must be  at least two students whose birthdays are in the  same week
