There are 6 apple of same weight in a basket and 6 guava each of equal weight in another basket. The weight of an apple is twice the weight of a guava . The total weight of the 12 fruit is 2.7. Find the weight of guava. With solution

Solution-

Let us assume, x kg is the weight of an apple and y kg is the weight of a guava

Given:

x = 2y -------------1

Also given:

6x + 6y = 2.7 -------------2

Substitute the value of x from equation 1 in equation 2

6 * 2y + 6y = 2.7

12y + 6y = 2.7

18y = 2.7

y = 0.15 Kg

Therefore, the weight of 6 guava = 0.15 * 6 = 0.9 Kg
