Total no. of kids = 60

No. of kids who play soccer = 30

No. of kids who play tennis = 20

No. of kids who play both = 12

so, no of kids who prefer swimming = 60 - [30 + 20 - 12]

                                                            = 60 - 38

                                                            = 22

Hence, 22 kids like swimming.

Answer: There are 60 kids in a camp. Half of them play soccer, one third play tennis, and one fifth play both. All other kids prefer swimming then 22 kids like to swim.

Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of kids in the camp = 60  kids

Half of them play soccer = 60 / 2 = 30

i.e. 30 kids play soccer

1/3 rd play tennis = 1/3 × 60

                              = 20 kids

20 kids play tennis

one fifth play both tennis and soccer = 1/5 of 60 kids

                                                             = 1/5 th × 60

                                                             = 12 kids

Total kids who play soccer and tennis = 30 +20- 12 = 38

38 kids play both soccer and tennis

Remaining kids = 60 - 38 = 22 kids

As all the remaining kids prefer swimming which means 22 kids prefer swimming .
