Solution:

Given, the distance between the first post and the last post $\begin{array}{l}{=73\ \mathrm{m}\ 50\ \mathrm{cm}} \\ {=(73 \times 100)\ \mathrm{cm}+50\ \mathrm{cm}} \\ {=7300\ \mathrm{cm}+50\ \mathrm{cm}} \\ {=7350\ \mathrm{cm}}\end{array}$

Number of lamp=posts = 8

Number of equal spaced gaps between 8 map-posts = 8 – 1 = 7

∴ Distance between the first post and the last post = Total length of 7 equal spaced gaps  

    = 7350 cm  

∴ Distance between any two posts place one after the other $=\frac{7350}{7}\ \mathrm{cm}$

          $=1050\ \mathrm{cm}$

          $=\frac{1050}{100}\ m$

          $\begin{array}{l}{=10.50\ \mathrm{m}} \\ {=10\ \mathrm{m}\ 50\ \mathrm{cm}}\end{array}$
