Solution : Let, average age of eight teachers be z and sum of age of seven teacher be y.

⟹ Average age of eight teachers = (y + 35)/8

⟹ z = (y + 35)/8 ----{1}

Let, age of new teacher be x

Now, according to given, when new teacher join the school then average age increased by 2.

Hence, [from {1}]

⟹ z + 2 = (y + x)/8

⟹ z = (y + x)/8 - 2 ----{2}

Now, from eq. {1} and eq. {1}

⟹ (y + 35)/8 = (y + x)/8 - 2

⟹ (y + 35)/8 = (y + x - 16)/8

⟹ y + 35 = y + x - 16
