Given :  80 apples in a carton of apples

24 red apples and the rest of the apples are green.

To find :  What percentage of the apples are green

Solution:

Total Apples in carton = 80

Number of Red apples = 24

Number of Green apples = Total apples - Red Apples

=> Number of Green apples = 80 - 24

=>  Number of Green apples = 56

percentage of the green apples = (green apples / total apples) * 100

= (56/ 80 ) * 100

= (56/8) * 10

= 7 * 10

= 70

Hence, 70 percentage of the apples are green.
