Given : There are 96 girls and 120 boys in a sports event. The sports teacher wants to arrange them in rows in such a  way that each row contains equal number of students and each row should have either girls or boys in it, not  both.

To Find : greatest number of students that can be arranged in a row

Solution:

To Find the greatest number of students that can be arranged in a row

we need to find HCF ( Highest Common Factor )

or GCD (Greatest Common Divisor)

of Boys  & Girls

Boys = 120

Girls = 96

120 = 96 *  1 + 24

96 = 24 x 4

24 is The HCF

Hence Maximum number of students that can be arranged in a row are 24
