Chickens have 2 legs

Sheeps have 4 legs.

Both have only one head each.

Lets assume:

number of sheeps = S

number of chickens =C

According to the question,

S+C = 48.......(i)

4S+2C=134 => 2S+C = 67......(ii)

Substracting eq. (i) from equation (ii)

S = 19

substituting in (i)

C = 29

Answer:

Explanation:

Let number of hens be x, number of sheep be y.

x+y=48       --------eq1

2x+4y=134   --------eq2

Now, by elimination

       (2x+4y=134)

      -(2x+2y=96)

=>   2y= 38

=>     y=19

Therefore, there are 19 sheep.

So, option C is correct.
