A delta is a river floodplain - guess why it’s called a floodplain - because it floods when it rains. People don’t realize this (how could they not with that name?) so build houses and even cities on these floodplains, then express horror and surprise when a one in several hundred year rainfall event causes flooding. No surprises there.

- Deltas are located on the low lying plains. This may lead to constant flooding on the farm which results to crops doing poorly and consequently poor yields.
- pollutants will accumulate in this slow draining regions. This leads to excessively contaminated crops.
- River courses at the old stages of a river, like where deltas are located, are prone to shift in courses. This may lead to a farm being submerged under water.
- Lands on deltas or around them, might be subject to being hit by ocean waves due to the closeness of the deltas to oceans.
hope this answer helps you :)
