Answer:

Given that,

There are cow in the field by accounting heads, they are 52.

Let assume that

Number of cows be x

According to statement

{ \: y = 52 - x}}

y=52−x

According to second condition

The total number of their legs is 176.

Number of legs of cow = 4

So,

4x + 2y = 176:⟼4x+2y=176

2(2x + y) = 176:⟼2(2x+y)=176

2x + y = 88:⟼2x+y=88

2x + 52 - x = 88:⟼2x+52−x=88

x = 88 - 52:⟼x=88−52

x = 36⟹x=36

Hence,

Number of cows = 36

Given : There are cows in the Field .

By counting heads , they are 52 .

the number of legs is 176 .

To Find :  How many cows are there

Solution:

Cows  = C

Humans  = H

Cow and human has 1 head each

Hence  C  + H  = 52   Eq1

Cows has 4 legs and  Human has 2 legs

Hence

4C  + 2H  = 176

=> 2C  + H  = 88       Eq2

Eq2 - Eq1

=> C = 88 - 52

=> C = 36

Hence There are 36 cows in the field
