A farmer or people from Indian rural society directly depend on agricultural land for their living. But it is distributed unequally amongst people.  

Women are not given a right to own the land, but they work as laborers in the agricultural land.

Income of farmers is low and insecure. They are not sure if they would get a good return of the hard work they are putting up on the land. Thus, how  much land a farmer owns determines the mobility of farmers position in the socio-economic system.
