There are six important elements of a Novel or Novella. They are described below:

  • Character: Characters are the cornerstone of the entire work in many ways. The readers won't be able to empathize with flat characters. But readers will enjoy the story if the characters seem genuine and relatable. Knowing what the characters do and say enables one to create the most accurate picture of the novel's world.
  • Plot: Plot is comparable to blueprints. The story is shaped by the plot, its connections, and its structure. It also describes how the characters deal with various situations. It is the novel's well-organized structure.
  • Setting: One of my personal favorites is the environment. This includes the setting, whether it be real or imagined, and the social environment of the story, such as the historical context, prevalent culture, and institutions.
  • Theme: In fiction, the story is propelled forward by the theme. The story is essentially about the abstract notion or the universal truth. The theme serves as the center around which the entire plot, cast of characters, point of view, and other components of fiction revolve.
  • A viewpoint: In fiction, the point of view refers to the perspective and method of telling the story. It's similar to having a particular perspective on the story, usually in the first or third person.
  • Style: A story's "style" includes not only the words it uses (diction), but also the way those words are put together in sentences that make sense, how those sentences develop, and how the writer's ideas are expressed.
