Thanks for the question!

It is definitely a very interesting question to solve and do some brainstorming.

The Eastern Coastal plain lies along the east coast of India and runs smoothly from the north to the south. It has a broad plain and level surface. It is washed by the Bay of Bengal.
Being smooth in nature, the Eastern Coast is unfit for making ports. Hence, very few ports are developed there. The Western Coast is broken,& indented and this nature makes it suitable for ports.
The East Coast Plain is formed by rich fine alluvial soil deposition so it is highly fertile and fit for agricultural productions especially on the deltas. Consequently, this region has more agricultural production then trade & travel.
