Answer:

31

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi,

Given that there a re 5 questions in a question paper ,

Required to find the number of ways in which a boy can solve

one or more questions,

Either a boy can solve 1 question or he can solve 2 questions or

he can solve 3 questions or he may solve 4 questions or he

could solve all the questions as well

A boy could solve only one question in ⁵C₁ ways = 5 ways ,

since that could be any one of the question from the given 5

A boy could solve 2 questions in ⁵C₂ ways = 10 ways

A boy could solve 3 questions in ⁵C₃ ways = 10 ways

A boy could solve 4 questions in ⁵C₄ ways = 5 ways.

A boy could solve all the questions in only 1 way.

Thus the total number of ways in which a boy can solve one or

more questions are ( 5 + 10 + 10 + 5 + 1) = 31.

Hope, it helped !
