Answer:

Let father's age be x.

Father's age=x

Mother's age= x-8

Son's age= x/2

Daughter's age=x/2-8

x+x-8+x/2+x/2-8=111

AnSwEr :-

  • Father's age = 42 years

  • Mother's age = 34 years

  • Son's age = 21 years

  • Daughter's age = 13years

GiVeN :-

  • Total number of members = 4

  • Sum of their ages = 111

  • Father is 8 years older than mother

  • Son is 8 years older than daughter

  • Son's age is half of father's age

To FiNd :-

  • Ages of members of family

SoLuTioN :-

Let,

  • Mother's age be x years

Then,

According to Question ,

  • Father's age is (x + 8) years

  • Son's age is = Father's age / 2 = (x + 8) / 2 years

Now,

Son is 8 years older than daughter's age so daughter is 8 years younger than son's age

So,

  • Daughter's age is (x +8)/2 - 8 years

Now,

According to Question ,

  • Sum of their ages = 111,

 \implies \: x + (x + 8) + ( \frac{x + 8}{2} ) + ( \frac{x + 8}{2} - 8) = 111 \\ \\ \implies \: x + x + 8 + \frac{x + 8}{2} + \frac{x + 8}{2} - 8 = 111 \\ \\ \implies \: \frac{2x \times 2}{1 \times 2} + \frac{x + 8}{2} + \frac{x + 8}{2} = 111 \\ \\ \implies \: \frac{4x + x + x + 16}{2} = 111 \\ \\ \implies \: 6x = 111 \times 2 - 16 \\ \\ \implies \: 6x = 222 - 16 = 204 \\ \\ \implies \: x = \frac{204}{6} = 34

So,

Mother's age = x = 34 years

Father's age = ( x + 8) = 34 + 8 = 42 years

Son's age = Father's age / 2 = 42/2 = 21 years

Daughter's age = Son's age - 8 = 21 - 8 = 13 years
