Interesting question. CFCs have been the main reason of ozone depletion. It is really a question where from these CFCs come in Antarctica . The low temperature in winter causes polar stratospheric clouds( PSCs) to form. These are specific types of ice clouds formed in Antarctica's stratosphere. What is there in CFC that causes ozone depletion? It is chlorine. In Antarctica the already available chlorine in the atmosphere easily react with ice particles and forms this PSCs to form which destroy the ozone layer.
