sinu17: how it became,
WonderGirl: The total strength is not more than 50. And now 97.5 per cent students only present. The total number of students is not given. But still the number of students present will be less than 50. :-)

Number of students in the class is still less than 50

Solution:

Given, there are less than 50 students in the class.

Today, only 97.5% of the class is here.

We have to find how many students are in this class?

Now, let the students strength of class be x.

Then, x < 50.

And, present percentage = 97.5%

Students in class = 97.5% of x

= 97.5/100 \times x

= 0.975 \times x

Here, we are multiplying "x" with a number less than 1. So the result will be less than the number.

Hence the number of students in class is still less than 50
