We all know that deserts have extreme temperatures. They are prone to droughts, which means they have an acute water scarcity. Due to this, only plants which can tolerate the heat and avoid transpiration survive there , example- cactus. They have thorns for leaves which avoid transpiration. Also, their roots are largely spread underground , for maximum water absorption.
And only animals, for example- camels , survive in such areas for they have long eyelashes (to avoid sand going in their eyes), hump and other features which help them survive the extreme temperatures.
Precisely, only animals with extreme-temperature adaptive features can survive in deserts , which are quite less in number, when compared to animals in other terrains,
