There are many ideas about how this world will come to an ‘end’. What are they? Do you agree with the poet and his understanding of the issue in this regard?

Explanation:

There are definitely many ideas about how the world will ‘end’. I do believe that the world will end some day as anything that has a beginning will have an end. This stands true for the world also, if the Sun got so hot that it burst, the whole of the Earth would perish immediately as no part of the Earth can bear the heat of that intensity. But if the Sun grew colder and colder, everything will come to an end as without sunlight, life will end.

Answer:

Robert Frost in his poem 'Fire and Ice' talked about two beliefs of people about how the world will end. One set of people believe that the world will be burned and destroyed by fire. He seconds them and compares fires to the desires of men. The uncontrolled and an unending desires have made many greedy and is leads to jealousy and this will destroy the world.

However, if the Earth were to end twice then the poet feels that the second time in the world would perish due to the ice. The ice represents hatred. Mens hatred is very destructive. It is a silent killer. Ice or hate will freeze the heart and emotions of people and it has the strength to destroy the world. If the sun gets too hot it will burst and it could destroy the entire solar system and without the sun there would be no life on earth. If it grow colder and colder the earth would be covered with Ice and there would be no life.
