The pyramids of Giza are three in number. The Great Pyramid of Cheops is the largest. It is the oldest
of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to remain largely intact. It is the burial
place of King Cheops. He ruled in Egypt over four thousand years ago. Many of the kings of ancient
Egypt, built pyramids which served as tombs. The bodies of the dead kings had been preserved by
some wonderful spices put on them. These preserved dead bodies are called mummies.
