But a refrigerator is required to transfer heat from low temperature to high temperature.  Reversing the Carnot cycle is the most efficient re refrigeration cycle as it reverses the directions of heat. It also reverses the direction of work interactions.  Carnot cycle operates between 2 specified temperature levels.
