there are plenty of plant present in our surroundings this is all the result of evolution.because of evolution many plant species came into existence and then slowly differentiated to form a completely different plant . due to evolution further many more plants came into existence.

a great example of plant who have gone through a fast evolution is orchid. today there are more than 25000 species of orchid. that's the true beauty of nature needed to be appreciated in every sense.

when we trace our ancestral relationship it ends up with the bacteria named archea. this archea due to evolution further became algae. from this algae further evolution took place and now we can see a complete different sets of plant present.
