The sum of the two numbers she circles is 0.237233

Solution:

There are seven numbers in this list:

0.123, 0.123, 0.112233, 0.13, -0.0123, 0.1223, 1/8

We know, 1/8 = 0.125

Thus,

0.123, 0.123, 0.112233, 0.13, -0.0123, 0.1223, 0.125

Ashley rewrites the seven numbers in order from least to greatest

Thus,

-0.0123 , 0.112233 , 0.1223 , 0.123, 0.123, 0.125 , 0.13

Then circles the second and sixth numbers in this ordering

Second number =  0.112233

Sixth number = 0.125

What is the sum of the two numbers she circles?

Sum = 0.112233 + 0.125 = 0.237233

Thus the sum of the two numbers she circles is 0.237233
