There are several chickens and rabbits in a cage. There are 72 heads and 200 feet inside the cage. How many chickens and rabbits are there?

Let the no. of chickens be x and no. of rabbits be y.

so ,

x + y = 72 ............(i)..×2   we get

2x + 2y = 144

2 x+4 y = 200 .....(ii)

Sub .....(i)....from.(ii)    we get

⇒ 2 y = 56

∴ y = 28

and x = 72-28 = 44
